Turning unwanted rings into a diamond set pendant.
The initial concept of the design was based on a pebble necklace to have an organic feel. Having feedback from the client ‘so long as the diamonds sparkle I’m happy’, the design was changed with this in mind.
The client wanted to use her three larger stones only and use these in the finalised pendant. We decided on a three stone tapering pendant with design consideration to which way the taper should be.
The melt and make process was used, which is a technically challenging process and requires a high level of expertise from our goldsmith to achieve the end result. We all learnt to appreciate the different processes needed before achieving the end result.
The finished piece looks amazing and the client was very happy that she had managed to use her unwanted gold and turn this into something that is beautiful and wearable.
