Our workshop is able to carry out a wide range of Jewellery repairs and these are just a few examples of the work we can undertake.
Maintenance or Repairs
If worn regularly rings can get a lot of rough treatment and will from time to time need some essential maintenance or repairs.
Re-Tipping
The little claws or prongs as they are often called, that hold the stones in place can become worn or broken which, if not repaired, can result in the stone falling out and becoming lost. When we repair this it is known as re-tipping.
A little tip I often offer to check if your claws are damaged or sharp is to rub the ring against the back of your hand to see if it scratches. If it does it needs attention.
Replacing Stones
If you are unfortunate enough to lose a stone when it has fallen out of a ring, pendant or earring then we can replace it.
Broken Chains . . .
When a chain, necklace or bracelet, has snapped or a clasp is broken we can usually repair this.
Rhodium Plating
White gold jewellery is now often rhodium plated. This gives your jewellery a whiter, brighter look but this plating can wear. Our workshop is equipped to re rhodium plate your jewellery and bring back it’s sparkle.
