Resizing a ring is a precise process that requires expert craftsmanship to ensure a flawless finish with no visible seams in the metal.
To begin, the back of the ring’s shank is carefully cut. If the ring needs to be made smaller, a small section of metal is removed. If it needs to be made larger, a matching piece of metal is added.
The goldsmith then uses a precise measuring tool to ensure the ring is resized to the correct dimensions. The ring is the re-joined, creating a clean, strong bond that blends seamlessly with the rest of the ring.
Finally, the ring is refinished and undergoes a thorough quality check to ensure the resizing work meets the highest standards.
